UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Available to West Virginia resident sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled, or planning to enroll, in civil engineering or a construction related four-year degree program in a West Virginia college or university. (Eligible schools include West Virginia University, West Virginia Institute of Technology, Fairmont State College, Bluefield State College, and Marshall University.) Also open to West Virginia residents attending out-of-state schools offering a construction-related curriculum not available in West Virginia. The first-place annual award is in the amount of $7,500. Lesser amounts are given for second and third-place winners.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, extra-curricular activities, employment experience, financial need, and a demonstrated interest in a construction industry career. Finalists are selected in February and are subject to a personal interview with the CAWV Scholarship Board.
APPLICATIONS
Applications are available as of January 1st of each year. Students may obtain an application in the engineering department of your school, on the CAWV website, or by contacting Pat McDonald at pmcdonald@cawv.org.
DEADLINE
Completed hard copy of the application, transcript, letter of recommendation from a faculty member and a personal cover letter stating need, qualifications and desire must be received at the CAWV Headquarters by the deadline indicated on the application.
